Volunteer New York’s Virtual Event Breaks Fundraising Goal

At noon last Tuesday, April 7th, the face of Volunteer New York’s Executive Director, Alisa Kesten, lit screens in homes around the U.S. to welcome over 400 viewers to the 2020 Volunteer Spirit Awards. Due to the global situation, Volunteer New York turned their annual event virtual this year and asked VeeKast to produce the Virtual-Event (VirtEventPro™). The event was meant to celebrate their honorees on a national platform. It brought together members of the VNY community and their friends and family to honor the impactful work of the Gallin family, who took home the 2020 Legacy Award, and other incredible volunteers.

Along with the celebration of volunteerism, we helped VNY to virtually fundraise using our FundAMeter™, so they can continue to better the lives of their community and push forward their volunteer efforts. Throughout the fundraising, attendees learned more about the stories of the honorees through a touching video we produced, heard from VNY members and leaders and became a part of the VNY community. Having to turn their event virtual didn’t hinder the enthusiasm of donors at all. By the time the virtual curtain closed on the event, they had broken their goal by fundraising over $40,000!

Volunteer New York’s virtual event was an incredible success. It is a testament to the power of a virtual event, and proof that even in these uncertain times, you can still celebrate the good and bring a community together to move your business forward.
